Selling Advice
It's a fact that if you prepare your vehicle for sale you will
make the vehicle more attractive to potential buyers and improve
the chances of getting more money for it. So what do you do? There
are some straightforward things you can do that will immediately
make the process easier for the buyer, and therefore, you.
Clean the vehicle thoroughly, inside and out. It is impossible
to over-clean a vehicle. If at all possible, get it detailed (including
an engine wash, shampoo and a polish - this is a small investment
with excellent returns)
If asking top dollar consider having any aesthetic defects repaired
Ensure the paperwork is in order. Have the Registration Papers
available, and have the vehicle inspected by an RTA approved service
station and have the resultant Pink Slip handy for the buyer to
inspect (if there are any defects then consider rectifying them
or be prepared to reduce your asking price in lieu of)
Consider an NRMA inspection for the vehicle prior to advertising
- this does attract buyers
Ensure service books are up-to-date (get them stamped by the dealer
if not)
If you have had any major work done on the vehicle, or added new
accessories, have the receipts available to show the prospective
buyer
